Barcelona are considering a move for Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi in January.
Barcelona boss has been given the green light to sign a defender in January, and, although Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger remains his top target, Mustafi is an alternative if his German compatriot is not for sale.
Mustafi is in the last year of his contract at the Emirates, and has previously indicated that he wants to leave the club next summer, even if a new deal was offered to him , which is unlikely given his erratic form for the club over the past few years.
The 28-year old World Cup winner spent two seasons in La Liga with Valencia, before moving to the Gunners in a £35 million deal in 2016.
Selling him in January would not only enable Arsenal to get a fee for him rather than lose him for free next summer, but it would also potentially free-up room in the squad for William Saliba.
