Arsenal’s hopes of signing 20-year old Dominic Szoboszlai in January have been boosted.
That was after his agent denied suggestions that his client was on the verge of joining RB Leipzig, despite reports to the contrary in the German media.
Szoboszlai currently plays for RB Leipzig, for whom he has scored 12 times in 40 appearances and was named as the Austrian Bundesliga’s Player of the Season.
He has also starred for the Hungarian national side and produced the dramatic injury-time winner in their play-off on Thursday night in Budapest that sent them, through to the finals of the Euros at the expense of Iceland.
Both RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg are owned by the same company, and there have been a number of transfers between the two clubs, so it is logical to link the midfielder with the German side.
However, with Arsenal in the hunt for a more offensive-minded midfielder, he is once again on Mikel Arteta’s wish list.
