Barcelona want Manchester United youngster Arnau Puigmal.
The 19-year old is out of contract at Old Trafford next summer, and Barcelona want the player to return home rather than sign a new contract with the Premier League side.
Puigmal has been one of the stars for United’sunder-23 squad this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He is his side’s leading scorer, despite either playing as a right-back or in midfield.
The Spanish youth international was born in Barcelona and was part of the youth set-up at the City’s other major club Espanyol. The Catalans wanted to sign him three years ago, but United tipped them to his signature then. Now Barcelona are hoping to repay the favour in kind.
Whilst United are keen to keep the youngster, Barcelona may be able to tempt him by offering a clear path to first-team football. Something not guaranteed in Manchester.
