Phil Foden is on the verge of signing a new deal with Manchester City which will see his weekly wages triple.
The 20-year old signed a six-year deal at the club in 2018 worth £25,000 a week. However, he is now set to be rewarded with a new deal worth £75,000 a week, with bonuses worth up to £9,000 on top.
The midfielder is being given an increasing amount of game time by Pep Guardiola since the departure of David Silva in the summer and has scored three goals and provided two assists in all competitions this season so far.
Foden is back in Gareth Southgate’s England squad as well, having served a temporary ban imposed after he made his senior debut in the Nations Cup against Iceland in September. He and fellow debutant Mason Greenwood earned the ire of their national team manager by breaking the bio-secure bubble at their team hotel when the invited a couple of local girls up to their room.
