Son set to match Kane’s salary

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to offer South Korean forward Son Heung-min the same salary as the club’s top earner, Karry Kane, in order to get him to sign a new deal.

The 28-year old, who joined the club from Hoffenheim in 2015 is under contract until 2023 and is already one of the best paid players at the club.

But now with chairman Daniel Levy now reported to be personally involved in the negotiations with Son, they are ready to go further and match Kane’s salary

Son, who has been at the club since 2015, is under contract until 2023 and is one of the club’s highest earners, but now they are ready to up this to Kane’s level of £200,000 a week plus bonuses.

Kane and Son have assisted each other 29 times in the league and they are now the second most effective partnership in the history of the tournament, bettered only by Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
