German defender Shkodran Mustafi will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old is out of contract next June and, despite being offered a new deal during the summer, has decided that his future lies elsewhere.
Mustafi fell out of favour under Unai Emery, with the Spaniard encouraging him to continue his career elsewhere. However, he enjoyed something of a renaissance at the Emirates under his successor Mikel Arteta and became a regular in the side before a knee injury forced him to miss the Cup Final.
He returned to action as a substitute against Leicester on Sunday night, but was partly at fault for the goal his side conceded, failing to track the run of Jamie Vardy.
It has been suggestedthat he favours a move to Italy, because his wife’s family live close by in Switzerland.
He joined Arsenal from Valencia in a £35 million deal four years ago.
