Sheffield United are considering a loan move for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.
The 30-year old spend the second-half of last season on loan back in his native Argentina with his boyhood club Estudiantes.
However, it proved to be a frustrating experience for Rojo. Injury restricted him toa single appearance, and then the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
He returned to Old Trafford in the summer, but, although there were enquiries from a few clubs about him during the transfer window, nothing concrete materialised. He does not appear to be part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s long-term plans, although he was a surprise inclusion in their Champions L:eague squad.
The Bramall Lane club are in the market for defensive reinforcements after losing Jack O’Connell to a knee injury.
Therefore, a loan move may be in the interests of all parties, and will help put Rojo, who is out of contract next summer, in the shop window.
