Manchester City are likely to reignite their interest in signing Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico in the January window.
City considered making a move for the 28-year old Argentine international over the summer, but they were unable to offload Oleksandr Zinchenko in time, with Ukrainian determined to stay and fight for his place at the Etihad.
However, City want to add another left-back to their squad, with Benjamin Mendy having failed to convince Pep Guardiola as to his form and fitness over the past 12 months.
Ajax have valued the left-back at £25 million, but he has less than two years left on his current contract with the Eredivise team, and is reported to be keen to play in the Premier League at some stage in his career.
Manchester United were also interested in Tagliafico at one stage, but instead concluded a deal for Alex Telles from Porto on deadline day.
