Barcelona are furious with French striker Ousmane Dembélé after he turned down a deadline day to Manchester United.
The Catalans wanted to move on the 23-year-old as part of their squad restructuring, and had hoped to free-up his wages to help them make a bid for former United player Memphis Depay, now with Lyon.
In the end though, after talking to United, Dembélé decided to stary put, throwing their plans in to disarray. Depay remained in France, whilst Dembélé has been made to train alone.
A 2017 signing from Borussia Dortmund, injury has severely impacted the striker’s progress at the Nou Camp, although there have been well-documented disciplinary problems as well.
United had turned to Dembélé after finally giving up on their pursuit of Jadon Sancho and were prepared to take him on loan with an option to buy.
They signed the experienced Edison Cavani on a free transfer instead.
