Tottenham have been linked with a move for Swansea City centre-back Joe Rodon before the domestic transfer deadline day, with West Ham also interested.
Jose Mourinho is still interested in strengthening his defensive options before the window closes and has switched his attention to Rodon after bids to take Antonio Rudiger on loan from Chelsea, or to sign Milan Škriniar from Inter Milan were turned down.
West Ham too want to bring in reinforcements at the back, having seen a loan move for another Chelsea defender, Fikayo Tomori, collapse at the last minute on Monday.
A sticking point though may be price – Swansea value the 22-year old at £18 million, whereas Spurs have made an initial offer of £7 million.
Rodon, who has four senior caps for Wales, prefers to play on the left-side of defence and has acquired a reputation for his passing ability, and willingness to play out from the back.
