Ryan Sessegnon has agreed to join Hoffenheim on loan this season, having flown to Germany to finalise the deal.
The Bundesliga side have beaten off a host of competition to seal his signature, with the likes of Southampton, Brighton, Celtic, Hertha Berlin and RB Leipzig all showing an interest in acquiring his services on a temporary basis.
The 20-year old joined Spurs from Fulham in a £25 million deal last summer, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by, first under Mauricio Pochettino, and then his successor Jose Mourinho.
And, with Sergio Reguilón having signed from Real Madrid and Ben Davies also ahead of him, he finds himself down the pecking order in North London, and it is felt best for his development if he is playing regular first-team football.
He is still regarded as a long-term prospect by Spurs, which is why they are only prepared to sanction a loan move for him.
