Manchester United are in talks to sign free agent Edison Cavani.
The 32-year old left Paris Saint-Germain when his deal with the French champions came to an end at the end of last season and is now looking for a new opportunity, with Manchester United one of the clubs that have been contacted about a move for him.
Cavani wants to play Champions League football, and that is something that United can offer him this season.
The Uruguayan international scored 200 gaols in 201 appearances in all competitions for PSG,a nd, during his time in Paris, he won five league titles and nine domestic cups in various forms.
United continue to be heavily linked with a move for Jadon Sancho but, with time running out before the deadline day closes, they are now hurriedly looking at other alternatives, with the club under pressure to add more signings to the solitary addition so far this summer, Donny van de Beek.
Cavani is a proven goal scorer who would help them convert more of the chances they create.
