Wolves are considering making an ambitious attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The arrival of Thiago Álcantara from Bayern Munich means that Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at Anfield is uncertain and he will almost certainly be pushed down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.
And now Wolves who have already done business with Liverpool in this window by selling them forward Diego Jota hope that they can convince them that there is a deal to be done.
The 27-year old midfielder was a £35 million signing from Arsenal three years ago, and has made 87 appearances for the club in all competitions, despite missing almost a year of action after picking up a serious knee injury in a Champions League semi-final against Roma.
Although he made 30 of those appearances in their Premier League title winning campaign last season, he was not a regular starter, and with Álcantara now at the club, may welcome the chance to play first-team football every week.
