Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Thiago Alcántara from Bayern Munich, and he is set to agree a four-year deal with the Premier League champions.
The fee will be £20 million spread over the life of his new contract. In addition, Bayern could receive an additional £5 million, dependent on their success In the Premier League or the Champions League, provided that he is integral to that success.
Any individual player awards that the player gets will also count towards the total.
Thiago will wear his preferred shirt number six at Anfield.
The 29-year old began his career with Barcelona, before switching to the German champions in 2013, with whom he won the treble last season, culminating in victory in the Champions League final last month. During his time in Germany he also won seven league titles, four German cups, and the Club World Cup.
He becomes Jurgen Klopp’s second summer signing, after Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
