Torino are close to agreeing a deal for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
The 24-year old will move to the Serie A club on loan for next season, with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season.
The potential deal will be worth up to €24 million (£22 million) which will be paid in two tranches.
Fiorentina were also interested in a deal for the Uruguayan international, but now Torino appear to have edged them out.
A move to Torino would see Torreira reunite with coach Marco Giampaolo, who is credited with playing a big part in his development as a player when they were together at Sampdoria, the club that Arsenal signed him from in 2018.
Torreira was not part of Arsenal’s matchday squad for their weekend Premier League fixture at Fulham and has barely featured for the North London club since lockdown, although part of that was down to injury.
