Chelsea are considering loaning out winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this season.
Manager Frank Lampard has reinforced his forward and midfield options this summer by signing kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, all of whom can play in the same position as the England winger, and all of whom will be expecting regular first-team football.
And all of that spells bad news for Hudson-Odoi who signed a new five year contract with the club a year ago, worth £110,000 a week, but who only started seven league games for the club last season.
There have also been suggestions that Lampard has not been impressed with the attitude and performances of the 19-year old in training over the summer.
All this is a far cry from the player who made such an impact when he first burst on the scene with Chelsea and who was courted by Bayern Munich before he signed that lucrative new deal.
However, a successful loan spell away could yet help him realise his undoubted potential.
