Arsenal have opened talks with Brentford about a move for goalkeeper David Raya.
The Gunners are in the market for a new back-up to Bernd Leno, with Emi Martínez heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa, whilst Matt Macey, third choice, has also been told he can leave.
Raya is keen on a move to the Emirates, which would see him reunite with former goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, whilst the Gunners have also hired set-piece expert Andreas Georgeson from the West London club as well.
Another advantage of Raya for the Gunners is that he would count as a home-grown player, having come through the academy system at Blackburn Rovers.
Brentford are reluctant to part wit Raya, as they prepare for another tilt at promotion having lost out in the play-off final to Fulham last month. However, they have already seen striker Ollie Watkins join Aston Villa and are braced for more departures before the window closes.
