Aston Villa are stepping-up their interest in Liverpool striker Rihan Brewster.
Their manager Dean Smith wants to boost his striking options ahead of the coming campaign and believes that Brewster may be a solution to their problems in front of goal.
Brewster had an impressive loan spell in the Championship with Swansea City last season, scoring 11 goals in 22 games, and that form has seen him attract a lot of attention from other clubs.
Burnley, Crystal Palace, Brighton, and Fulham are all monitoring his situation, whilst Newcastle United were also interested, although they have subsequently signed Callum Wilson from Bournemouth.
Brewster is valued at £20 million by Liverpool, and, although Villa do not have much money, they should be able to afford that.
Liverpool remain undecided whether to keep Brewster in their squad or loan him out this season, but a sale at the right price could suit them equally well as it helps to generate funds to reinvest in the squad.
