Serie A side Fiorentina are closing in on a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Reports in the Italian press suggest that a deal could be wrapped-up later this week, although Roma and AC Milan both also remain interested in the player.
Fiorentina want to take the 24-year old initially on loan, with an option to buy at the end, with Arsenal looking to recoup as much of the £27 million they paid for him.
Since arriving from Sampdoria in 2018 there have been constant rumours linking Torreira with a return to Italy. He had a strong first season at the Emirates, but struggled in the last campaign, played out of position by Unai Emery, and then not a first-team regular under Mikel Arteta. He also missed much of the end of last season with an injury picked-up in the FA Cup victory over Portsmouth prior to lockdown.
He was left out of the squad to play Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley on the weekend.
