Chelsea want to add more more signings before the transfer window closes, after sealing the deal to sign Ben Chilwell on Wednesday.
The former Leicester City left-back has moved to Stamford Bridge for a fee of £45 million and has signed a five-year deal with the West London side. He joins new signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner already at the club.
They have also sealed a deal to sign free agent Malang Sarr and are also hoping to agree a short-term contract with Thiago Silva in the next few days. Meanwhile, negotiations for the signature of Kai Havertz are at the advanced stage, and are only being delayed whilst Bayer Leverkusen seek a replacement for the midfielder.
Frank Lampard also wants to sign a replacement for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with André Onana, Jan Oblak, and Dean Henderson all on the shortlist.
However, the club’s pre-season plans have been hit after it was revealed eight players are all in quarantine. Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori are all in self-isolation after returning from holiday in Mykonos, whilst Jorginho, Emerson, Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi have all been told to stay away from the training ground.
