Speculation that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United this summer now appears at and end.
That follows statements from the player’s agent Mino Raiola, who has not only confirmed that his client will not be leaving the club, but also that he expects talks to begin soon about a new contact at Old Trafford for the French World Cup winner.
The 27-year old’s current deal at Old Trafford runs until next summer, and, in the past, he has been heavily linked with moves to Real Madrid and Juventus. However, with few likely suitors in the current market because of the financial consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, there seems to be a recognition by both player and agent that he is best served staying where he is now.
Injury restricted him to just 8 appearances before the lockdown last season, but he returned to help United secure third place in the Premier League and Champions League football for next season, as well as reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.
