Newly promoted Leeds United are considering making a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
The EFL Champions have been linked with Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard, but, if they are unable to conclude a deal for him, are considering Origi as an alternative.
Leeds have identified the forward line as one area where they need to strengthen ahead of their first campaign in the top flight of English football after a 16-year absence. Patrick Bamford led the line for them last season, but he has struggled previously to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.
Origi had to content himself with a place on the bench at Anfield, during Liverpool’s title wining campaign, and may want to leave to play regular first-team football in order to earn a place in Belgium’s squad for the European Championships next summer.
The Yorkshire club are also amongst a host of teams interested in taking another Liverpool striker, Rihan Brewster on loan. Brewster scored in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly win over Stuttgart in Austria on Saturday.
