New Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman wants Liverpool midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum to join him at the Nou Camp.
The 29-year old, who is out of contract at Anfield at the end of next season had widely been expected to begin talks over a new deal with the Premier League champions, but Koeman has other plans for him.
Koeman was formerly manager of the Dutch national team and Wijnaldum played under him. There have also been suggestions that he wants to sign another Dutch international, former Manchester United forward Memphis Depay, from Lyon as well.
There are even reports in the Dutch press that Koeman has told Wijnaldum not to extend his stay with Liverpool.
Wijnaldum joined Liverpool in 2016 for a fee of £23 million from Newcastle United. He has since made 186 appearances for them in all competitions, scoring 19 times and was part of their Champions League winning team last year.
