Goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been offered to Aston Villa as Manchester United try and entice the Midlands club to part with their captain Jack Grealish.
The 24-year old is valued at £70 million and Romero would form part of a makeweight in any deal.
It comes as there is increased uncertainty about the immediate future of Dean Henderson, who bade farewell to Sheffield United fans on social media on Wednesday. He is expected to sign a lucrative new deal at United, but whether he will stay and compete with David de Gea for the number one jersey next season, or go out on loan again, possibly abroad, remains to be seen.
33-year old Romero joined United from Sampdoria in 2015 but has made just 61 appearances, the vast majority of which have been in cup competitions. He has won 96 senior caps for Argentina and knows he needs to be playing regular first-team football if he is to add to that number.
