Lazio have been loud in their criticism of David Silva, after he snubbed them at the last minute.
It was widely expected that he would be moving to Serie A, having agreed a three-year deal with Lazio.
The former Manchester City playmaker bade adieu to the Etihad last Saturday, playing his last game for the club in their surprise 3 -1 Champions League defeat to Lyon.
However, it was then confirmed that he was moving back to Spain instead, and has now signed for Real Sociedad. Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare has not minced his words, saying that “he has respect for the player not the man.”
Meanwhile, there is still a lot of love for Silva back at his former club. They have announced that they intend to erect a statue to him outside the Etihad. He will be the second former player to be honoured in this way after former skipper Vincent Kompany.
