Arsenal are set to announce a double deal in the coming days. Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ready to commit to a contract extension, whilst defender Gabriel Magalhães is on the verge of joining the FA Cup winners from French side Lille in a £27 million deal.
Securing the continued services of 31-year old Aubameyang has long been a priority for Mikel Arteta, and the Gabonese striker has now agreed to a contract extension until 2024, with improved terms of £250,000 a week including bonuses.
Also high on Arleta’s wish list has been a left-sided central defender, and Magalhães fits the bill, having impressed in France since joining Lille from Brazilian club Avai. He will join another Ligue 1 recruit, William Saliba, as Arteta looks to remodel his defence ahead of next season.
The 23-year old Brazilian international was wanted also by both Napoli and Manchester United, but has opted to join the Gunners instead.
