Chelsea are facing competition from Lazio to sign Real Madrid full-back Serge Reguilon.
The Stamford Bridge club have identified left-back as an area that they need to strength this summer and have previously been linked with a move for Leicester’s Ben Chilwell, although his £80 million price tag is a major impediment to that deal.
Now Reguilon has been identified as a viable, and cheaper alternative, after a successful loan spell with Sevilla. That form has seen a number of other clubs take an interest in him, led by Lazio, although Arsenal are also said to be interested (despite being well-served in the left-back department.
Reguilon, who is valued at £18 million, came through the youth system at Real, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by, and moved to Sevilla on loan at the start of the current season. With Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of him in the pecking order at Real, he seems set to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
