Liverpool have completed a to sign Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas, from Greek champions Olympiakos.
The Premier League champions are looking to add cover, and provide competition, for Any Robertson, and were linked with a move for Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis.
However, they decided to end their interest in the Northern Ireland international because of a difference in valuation. They offered £10 million, whilst the East Anglian side wanted at least double that.
Instead they have turned to Tsimikas who has signed for a fee of £11.75 million. The 24-year old passed his medical and has become Jurgen Klopp’s first summer signing.
Simikas featured for Olympiakos in their narrow defeat to Wolves in the Europa League last week.
He was part of the side that has just won the Greek Super League, and has previously had spells in Denmark with Esbjerg, and Holland with Willem II.
