Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a switch to Atlético Madrid and could be allowed to leave once Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has signed his new contract with the Gunners.
This is not the first time that Lacazette has been associated with a move to the Spanish club – he came close to joining them in 2017 before opting for the Gunners eventually.
However, now Arsenal are looking to generate funds, and are willing to sell Lacazette, who knows that the impending arrival of Willian at the club may impact on the amount of game-time he can expect under Mikel Arteta next season.
Lacazette could form part of a swap deal with main Arsenal target Thomas Partey coming the other way.
The 29-year old signed for the Gunners from Lyon for a fee of £53 million and has scored 48 goals for them in 127 appearances. However, in the past season, he was not always a first-choice, with both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli picked ahead of him on occasion.
