Arsenal fans are incensed after the club announced that 55 members of staff are due to lose their jobs, especially as the club have insisted that they will continue to invest in the playing squad.
Now it is reported that senior players are demanding to know more details, especially as some of the posts affected are in the scouting department.
The club are claiming that the reason for the redundancies is because the financial impact on their finances, especially the loss of matchday revenue, has been far greater than originally anticipated.
However, now questions are being raised, especially after the Gunners became the only side to negotiate a permanent pay-cut with their players in response to the crisis – 12.5% 9altough this has been reduced to 7.5% following their qualification for the Europa League.
And whilst some of those affected already know their fate, other employees are still waiting to know their fate.
Gunners legend Ian Wright summed-up the feelings of many tweeting “Remember who you are, what you are and who you represent!!!”.
