Liverpool defender Joel Matip has been linked with a move to French champions PSG.
The Cameroon defender had a difficult 2019-2029 season, with injury limiting his appearances to just 13, whilst the partnership at the heart of the Liverpool defence between Virgil van Dyck and Joe Gomez meant that his opportunities were limited, even when fit.
PSG are In the market for a replacement for their captain Thiago Silva, who is set to end his eight-year association with the club after their Champions League campaign concludes later this month.
And with Matip commanding a transfer fee of up to £50 million, Liverpool may be willing to sell him to raise funds which can be reinvested in the team elsewhere.
Such a sum would also be excellent business for the Premier League champions given that he was signed on a free transfer from German side Schalke in 2016.
Matip signed a new long-term contract at Anfield last October.
