Manchester United have been linked with a summer move for Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, son of former club legend Peter.
Doubts have been cast over the future of current number one David de Gea, after a season during which the Spaniard made a number of high-profile errors.
They appear to have a ready-made replacement in the shape of Dean Henderson, who has been in impressive form on loan with Sheffield United.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly has doubts about whether Henderson, who is only 23, is mature enough yet to be become the permanent keeper at a club of the stature of United.
Instead, he is considering making a move for Danish international Schmeichel, who is ten years older, and has experience of winning the Premier League title with the Foxes five years ago.
Signing him would provide a short-term bridge until Henderson is ready to take over in the long-term.
