Tottenham’s teenage striker Troy Parrott is set for a season-long move to Championship club Millwall.
The 18-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who has been tipped as the next Harry Kane by some Spurs fans because of his scoring exploits at youth level, has been told that he is not ready for premier League football by Jose Mourinho.
It is a hoped that a spell in the Championship will help toughen him up, and give him the experience of starting on a regular basis.
Millwall finished eight in the Championship last season, two places and points off a play-off spot. However, scoring goals was a problem for them, especially after the restart, and two of the relegated teams, Wigan Athletic and Hull City scored as many as they did across the campaign.
If Parrott does join Millwall he will be following in the footsteps of Kane. He spent his own time on loan with them in 2012, a period credited in helping him develop his game.
