Liverpool have been linked with a move for Leicester forward Harvey Barnes.
Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his squad by adding forward reinforcements, and Wolves Adam Traoré is a possible target, although their approaches for him so far have been rebuffed.
Instead they may turn their attention to Branes, who has impressed with his hard running and selfless play in support of Jamie Vardy.
The Leicester City academy graduate first came to prominence when he was on loan in the Championship with West Bromwich Albion in the Championship in the 2018 – 2019 season. So impressive was his form that Leicester recalled him halfway through that spell, and he has since gone on to become a first-team regular under Brendan Rogers, making 41 appearances last season, scoring 7 goals.
Liverpool prize him for his versality but know that Leicester will not be prepared to let one of their most promising young players go cheaply.
Barnes fits the Anfield club’s model of buying talented young players who have good sell-on potential in the future.
