Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is set to join Brighton on a free transfer.
The 32-year old has now become a free agent following the belated conclusion of the Premier League season, and is on the verge of signing a three-year deal with the Seagulls, who have now guaranteed their top-flight status for another campaign under Graham Potter.
He concludes his career at Anfield on a high, having picked up his Premier League winners’ medal last Wednesday, despite having made only 15 appearances for Liverpool this season. However, he did score the vital equalizer against Manchester United at Old Trafford last October,
The move means a return to the South Coast for Lallana, who began his professional career with Southampton, and had a brief loan spell with Bournemouth.
He joined Liverpool for a fee of £25 million in 2014, and made 178 appearances for the Merseyside club, but injury problems mean he has not featured as often in recent seasons as he would have liked.
