French club Montpellier are interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
The 27-year old is back in his native Germany after his two-year loan spell with the Turkish side Beşiktaş ended in acrimonious fashion with the stopper claiming that he was owed arrears in wages.
He is theoretically due to return to Anfield for the start of next season, but he has no future at the club and they are willing to sell him, hoping to receive a fee of £6 million for him from the French club, the sum they would have received from Beşiktaş had his loan deal been converted into a permanent move.
Karius has not played for Liverpool since his ill-fated appearance for them in the 2028 Champions’ League final when his errors gifted the eventual winners Real Madrid two goals. That prompted Liverpool, to go and spend big money to acquire the services of Alisson Becker, transforming them into a title-winning team.
