Manchester United are disappointed after learning that one of their top targets, Jude Bellingham is to join Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The Birmingham City, teenager, who became the youngest player ever to feature for the West Midlands club at the start of this season has been attracting attention from all across Europe with Chelsea amongst the teams interested in him.
So keen were United for the player to join them that they arranged a private tour of their Carrington training facility for Bellingham and his parents.
In the end though, it its Dortmund who have won the race and Bellingham will officially join them after Birmingham’s last game of the season.
Bellingham has been lured to the Bundesliga side by the promise of first-team football, and will be hoping he can follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, another English teenager who was lured to Germany and has since gone on to become a player valued at over £100 million.
It is believed Dortmund have paid a fee of around €25 million (£22.7 million) for the 17-year old.
