Arsenal want to take Dani Ceballos on another season’s loan.
The Spanish midfielder moved to the Emirates from Real Madrid at the start of this season initially for a year, and his trajectory in North London has mirrored the club’s season. A bright start, followed by a slump under Una Emery, before a gradual revival in fortunes under Mikel Arteta.
However, he has now become an automatic first choice under his compatriot and has helped them reach this year’s FA Cup Final.
Ceballos has no future at Real Madrid whilst Zinedine Zidane is in charge because of the poor relationship between the two, The Spanish club, who are desperate for money because of the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, would prefer to sell him outright if possible to raise much-needed funds.
However, they are thought to be amenable to another loan deal with Arsenal, as long as any agreement includes an obligation to buy.
