Manchester City are considering offering record goal scorer Sergio Agüero a new contract.
The 32-year has been heavily linked with a move back home to Argentina and his boyhood club Independiente when his current deal at the Etihad runs out in two-years’ time.
However, amidst continuing doubts over Gabriel Jesus, City are now mulling over offering Agüero a one year extension, giving them more time to identify a suitable replacement, for a man who has found the net 254 times in 370 games, since joining the club from Atlético Madrid in 2011.
The forward has netted 23 goals in 32 games this season but has been forced to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury which has already required surgery. That means that City will have to do without his services as they look to defend their FA Cup title, and challenge for the Champions League.
