Frank Lampard believes that Tammy Abraham has not been affected by the contracted negotiations over a new deal at the club.
The 22 year old had a very strong start to the season, scoring 13 Premier League goals for the West London side, but until scoring against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, he had failed to find the net since against Burnley on January 11th, and sometimes finding himself behind Olivier Giroud in the Stamford Bridge pecking order.
Many of the new exciting crop of players coming through at Chelsea have signed extended deals in the past few months, including Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Mason Mount, but Abraham has yet to follow suit, although it was thought that an agreement was virtually in place a few months ago between player and club.
However, despite the fact that the England international has less than two years left on his current deal Lampard is not duly exercised by the situation saying “I think Tammy’s contract, we are not at a critical level with it.”.
