Arsenal are open to the idea of Dani Ceballos staying at the club.
The 23-year old Spanish midfielder joined the Gunners on loan at the start of the season, and his arc has mirrored that of the club, with a bright start followed by a slump, with an injury set-back as well.
At once stage he seemed destined to return to his parent club, although, given that he and Zinedine Zidane do not get along, he seems to have no future at the Bernabeu whilst the Frenchman is in charge.
However, Mikel Arteta, who challenged the player when he first took over as manager to prove his worth, is now starting to get consistent performances out of Ceballos, and now wants him to extend his time at the Emirates admitting “yeah, we are talking to the club”.
Real have Ceballos under contract until 2023 but are not averse to the idea of cashing in on him. However, whether Arsenal have the funds to buy him outright this summer, or will try to negotiate another loan deal, this time with an option to buy, remains to be seen.
