Inter Milan are ready to make the loan move of Alexis Sánchez permanent in a cut-price €20 million (£18 million) move.
The Chilean forward moved to the san Siro on loan last August, but has hardly impressed during his time in Italy, although injuries have hampered his progress. He scored just his second goal for the club in the 6 – 0 rout of Brescia on Wednesday night from the penalty spot.
Despite that, Inter are willing to take a chance and make the move permanent, ending Sánchez’s unhappy time at Old Trafford. He joined the club in January 2018 from Arsenal in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head the other way but failed to justify his £500,000 a week pay package, scoring just 5 times in 43 appearances for the Premier League side.
Mkhitaryan hardly fared better – he is set to join another Serie A side Roma in another loan deal made permanent after the Gunners cancelled his contract.
