Tottenham want to offer a new deal to Maurizio Pochettino, the son of their former coach Mauricio.
The 19 year old Argentine joined the Spurs academy system in 2017 when his father was in charge of the club, and his current deal expires on June 30th. However, despite his Dad having been sacked, Spurs have seen enough of his son to want to keep him and his name has been included on the list of retained players for the 2020 – 2021 season.
That is despite the fact that Maurizio has not made a first-team appearance yet, and is not a regular for their under-23 side either.
Sebastiano, Pochettino’s other son, was employed as a first-team conditioning coach by Spurs, but left when his father was sacked and replaced by Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino has not worked since being sacked by Spurs, but his gardening leave is now over, meaning he is free to be employed by another Premier League club again.
