Super-agent Mino Raiola is trying to broker a deal that will see winger Justin Kluivert leave Roma for Arsenal, with Henrik Mkhitrayan’s loan to the Serie A side made permanent.
The Armenian international joined Roma at the start of the season, and, after initially suffering from injury, has settled well in Serie A and has publicly stated that he wants to remain in Italy.
Arsenal are happy to sell him in exchange for Kluivert, who they have reportedly offered a contract worth €3 million (£2.7 million) a year to join them.
The sticking point is valuation. Roma believe that because of their respective ages – Kluivert is a decade younger than Mkhitaryan at 21 years old – that Mkhitaryan is worth less than the Dutchman, and are looking for a cash sum on top.
Arsenal are sticking to their guns over what they want for the Armenian, who they acquired as part of the deal that took Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United in January 2018.
