Manchester City have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey – who has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
City are looking for a replacement for Leroy Sanè, who, it has been confirmed, wants to leave the Etihad this summer. Bayern Munich are prepared to offer £50 million for the 24 year old, despite the fact that he has barely played for them this season after picking up an ACL injury.
22 year old Bailey has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe, including City’s two Premiership rivals, but Pep Guardiola has stolen a march on them by initiating transfer discussions.
Bailey has been at Leverkusen since joining them as a teenager from Belgian side Genk in 2017. He has since gone on to play for the Bundesliga side, scoring 24 goals.
He is a Jamaican international, but has famously refused to play for the national side until their standard improves.
