Manchester United are ready to lock horns with Real Madrid as the two sides battle it out to sign Leicester City defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi. PSG are amongst a host of other top clubs also monitoring his position.
The 23 year old was signed from the Belgian side Genk for £17 million in January 2017 as a direct replacement for N’Golo Kanté, and has since blossomed into one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League, helping propel Brandan Rogers’ team towards the top end of the table.
United are looking for midfield reinforcements, despite Nemanja Matić having signed a one year contract extension. Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso and Ajax’s Donny van der Beek are believed to top Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wish list, but he is ready to turn his attention to Ndidi should both of those become unattainable.
Ndidi is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2024, so Leicester will not part with one of their prized assets cheaply.
