Chelsea’s pursuit of Kai Havertz has hit a stumbling block as the German side Bayer Leverkusen are asking for a huge sum of £90million for the highly-rated midfielder.
The 21-year old has scored five goals in his last four games as the Bundesliga restarted after the Coronavirus outbreak.
Havertz has had a very impressive season so far playing 27 games, scoring 11 whilst providing 5 assists, that kind of record for a midfielder is going to get top teams talking.
Chelsea’s hopes could however be tarnished as Leverkusen has put a £90million price tag on Havertz, but the West-London side are only willing to pay £75million so this could be the last of this rumor for The Blues.
Other teams that are interested in securing his services are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Premier League table-toppers Liverpool, so the financial clout with those clubs could be the deciding factor of who Havertz could transfer to.
If this £90million deal was to materialise for Chelsea he would become their record signing ahead of £71million Kepa Arizzabalaga from Athletico Madrid in2018.
