Tottenham target Ryan Fraser has turned down the chance to sign a short-term contract extension with his current club Bournemouth.
The 26 year old Scottish international is out of contract on June 30th, but with the season now stretching into July and beyond, Bournemouth had offered a short-term deal on the same terms.
However, he has now rejected their overtures, meaning that he is free to sign for a new club on July 1st, although he will not be eligible to play for them until next season.
That means that he could potentially play in Bournemouth’s first two games after the restart, against Crystal Palace and Wolves, but would not be available for their remaining matches as Eddie Howe’s side battle to escape relegation.
Like many players in his position, Fraser is worried that he may pick up an injury in the remaining games which could jeopardise his next move, and with the likes of Tottenham interested, that is not something he is prepared to risk.
