Liverpool have made enquiries about the availability of Wolves winger Adama Traoré, a man that Jurgen Klopp has described, at his best as “unplayable”.
Now instead they have turned their attention to former Barcelona man Traoré, who has been enjoying the best season of his career to date, having begun to add goals and assists to his trademark pace on the right wing.
The Premier League Champions elect had been linked with a move to Timo Werner, the RB Leipzig striker, but he is now set to join Chelsea instead, because of the financial issues facing the Anfield club in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
This is by no means the first time that Liverpool have considered a move for him. He was on their radar back in 2015 when Brendan Rogers was looking for a replacement for Raheem Stirling, who had just joined Manchester City, but, at the time, he was regarded as too unreliable.
