Spanish winger Pedro will join Roma on a free transfer this summer.
The 32 year old’s contract at Stamford Bridge ends on June 30th, and with limited first team opportunities under Frank Lampard, the former Barcelona player is set to move to pastures new.
The Chelsea player has not wanted for suitors, with Juventus, and a clutch of La Liga clubs – Valencia, Sevilla, and Real Betis –all interested in him, but Roma appear to have won the race for his signature, having tracked the player for some time.
After a glittering career with Barcelona, Pedro moved to Chelsea in 2015, and has since gone on to feature for them 201 times, picking up Premier League, FA Cup and Europa Cup winners’ medals during his time in West London.
However, this season he has had fewer chances, contributing two goals and three assists in 18 matches, although he was in the starting line-up when the season was suspended.
